Fundraising Campaign for the APT Fund
For more than 35 years APT has played a seminal role in the preservation movement, not just in North America but internationally. Begun as a joint venture between American and Canadian preservationists in 1968, the membership now stands at over 1,500, representing 30 countries around the globe. APT is the premier information resource for preservationists worldwide, especially through its publications, the APT Bulletin and Communiqué, and through its technical training courses and conferences. APT provides extraordinary opportunities for the cross-disciplinary exchange of ideas, and our devoted and loyal members attest to their strong professional and personal attachment to the organization.
During the past decade the development and successful implementation of a strategic plan have put APT in its strongest-ever position, both programmatically and financially. To ensure the continuation of APT's core programs and allow for future growth, APT is committed to maintaining a firm financial foundation.
APT's greatest current financial need is to build its endowment, which is known as the APT Fund. It's easy to make an online donation.
The current goal for the APT Fund is to raise $500,000 by 2008, APT's 40th anniversary. Interest from a portion of the endowment will be unrestricted, in order to allow the Board of Directors to deal with changing organizational needs and to be responsive to special opportunities that support APT's mandate. The endowment will also be used to provide scholarships for students and early-career professionals so that they can attend APT's annual conferences. In addition, permanent endowments for scholarships can be established in the name of individuals, companies, or foundations for contributions totaling $25,000 or more.
You are invited to join your fellow professionals in supporting the APT Fund with your tax-deductible contribution. Please be as generous as you can.
If you are not yet a member of APT or if you want to renew your membership, please join APT today and become a part of preservation's premier, worldwide organization.
