Ottawa Valley/Outaouais

Established in 1999, this chapter serves members in the Ottawa Valley/Outaouais region of Ontario and Quebec. Founded over tea, scones, and Devonshire cream, the chapter was intended to be a loosely structured affinity group that would meet in various parts of the region several times a year to share information, consider conservation challenges, and enjoy social events. The chapter is interested in

  • creating a local network for exchange of information and experience.
  • sharing resources with related organizations, such as ICOMOS, and with community heritage and educational organizations.
  • hosting mixers and other social events with a conservation focus and promoting discussion and exchange.
  • organizing tours of buildings, sites, and projects under construction, as well as technical lectures, demonstrations, and workshops.

The Ottawa Valley/Outaouais Chapter plans to organize a minimum of three to four events per year located throughout the region, not limited to Ottawa. Those interested in participating in the events of this chapter are invited to contact Susan Ross.
