Beginning after World War II, architects and builders began employing off-the-shelf metal products like aluminum and stainless steel as both structural and decorative elements in modern buildings. The goal of the workshop is to be able to make intelligent and informed determinations regarding when these finishes can be preserved and when they need to be altered or replaced during retrofits and repairs. Wait List Available Using lectures, demonstrations and hands-on experience, the workshop gives each participant a basic understanding of material properties and compositions of historic masonry (clay brick, natural and cast stone, mortars) determined through the use of laboratory tests and investigation, and to then correlate the data effectively in real world practice. WS4    HANDS-ON CONSTRUCTION OF "GUASTAVINO" THIN TILE VAULTS
