Student Membership and Student Chapters
APT invites and welcomes interest in establishing student chapters of APT.
Benefits of Student Chapters:
- Access by invitation, to APT members for speaking engagements at the chapter's school. For example, a student chapter can create a lecture series on preservation and conservation issues from a variety of disciplines.
- Option to purchase back issues of the APT Bulletin
- Potential access to the offices of preservation firms and APT members in your region.
- Access by invitation, to APT members to serve as advisors to the chapter.
- The opportunity to attend APT conferences and training courses.
- The opportunity to attend the APT annual conference and meeting as a scholarship winner.
- Access to sites under construction/preservation through other APT members in your region.
- Access to training courses that serve as a template to create similar training courses in your region.
- The opportunity to network with other professionals and learn from firms nationwide that are involved in the preservation and conservation of the built environment.
Costs
To establish a student chapter, all that is needed is for the interested students to join APT at the student rate. The Faculty Advisor must be a Full member of APT and we encourage the school or organization to be a member at the Institution rate.
Student rate: $50US; $60CAN; $50 Overseas - photocopy of valid student ID required
Institution rate: $150US; $220CAN; $200 Overseas
Overseas membership includes an annual mailing charge outside North America.
