The College of Fellows fulfills a variety of salient functions within APT. Overall, the college advises the Board of Directors on issues regarding the advancement of philosophy and practice of preservation technology. Members of the college serve on committees or in other capacities, as needed. 

The College of Fellows honors those APT members who have provided valuable services to the preservation field and to APT. Each year at the APT annual conference the College of Fellows inducts up to six new members.

The College of Fellows Jury, which consists of five members, reviews the nominations and elects those for invitation to the fellowship.  The jury, a committee of the College of Fellows, includes three Fellows selected by the College, one member-at-Large, and one member of the Board of Directors selected by the APT President with the approval of the Board of Directors.

Welcome to the New 2018 Class of Fellows

Barbara Campagna
During her stellar career Barbara has put effort into mentoring and promoting colleagues and this desire to share and collaborate is a fundamental part of APT’s culture and a part of Barbara’s DNA. As a member of the New York City Chapter of the AIA Historic Resources Committee she contributed to commentary on projects before the Landmark Commission and on preservation issues. She served as President of the APTNE Chapter. She has published and delivered papers and organized symposia extensively on preservation, modern heritage and sustainability. She founded APT’s Technical Committee on Modern Heritage in 2006 and as President, was a staunch supporter of the Technical Committee on Sustainable Preservation, bringing them into the national dialogue on sustainability policy with the National Trust and USGBC, which led to APT’s receipt of the AIA Collaboration Award.  In 2007 Barbara became President of APT. She led the Executive Committee through the selection of an APT Administrative Director and the transition to the new administrative team. During this process, she redefined the way APT did its business.

 

 

Janet Null
Janet Null is a long-term member of the Board of Directors of the APTNE Chapter. The supporters of this nomination who served on the APT and APTNE boards with her have universally noted the mark that Janet’s clarity and perspective have had on our organization’s core programs. During Janet’s 5-year service as Co-Chair of the Training and Education Committee, she helped redefine the content and method of delivery of APT’s training programs. These programs have experienced marked increases in attendance at conferences and chapter events and, consequently, strengthened the overall health of APT. In both her training-related efforts and commitment to the next generation of APT members, Janet has had a significant impact on preservation in New York State, on APT, and on the APTNE Chapter. She is a consummate and devoted professional and a role model for others. It is our sincere wish that Janet will continue her efforts in support of APT and the chapters, as well as engage in new efforts that promote and advance the College of Fellows.
