Texas Historical Commission’s Real Places 2021 virtual conference
Wednesday, February 03, 2021 to Friday, February 05, 2021
Category: Events

Early-bird registration is now open for the Texas Historical Commission’s Real Places 2021 virtual conference. Packed with all the exceptional content you’ve come to expect from Real Places, this historic preservation and heritage tourism conference will take place online February 3–5, 2021.

Presented by Phoenix I Restoration and Construction and hosted by the Friends of the Texas Historical Commission, this is going to be an event to remember! Despite challenges posed by going virtual for the first time, we’re confident we’ve put together a quality conference that meets our high standards. We’re proud to share the robust schedule, featuring 44 speakers from across Texas and the U.S. and 28 sessions on a variety of historic preservation and heritage tourism topics.

Act now and take advantage of the early-bird registration rate of just $99. That’s a savings of more than $200 off the regular early-bird rate for our in-person conference—plus there are no lodging or travel expenses.

Additional Benefits of Going Virtual

  • Thanks to the support of the Texas Land Title Association and our Student Scholarship Sponsor, more price breaks are available for courthouse stewards with validation by our Texas Historic Courthouse Preservation Program and full-time students with valid IDs.
  • Organizations with multiple attendees can save 25 percent on additional registrations purchased at the same time (meaning the first one is full price, and each additional is 25 percent off).
  • Session recordings will be available to registrants for at least 60 days following the conference. So if you’re interested in attending concurrent sessions or simply have to step away for a bit, you can catch up later at your convenience.

And as always, you’ll learn best practices and strategies to protect and preserve the rich heritage of the Lone Star State and to promote and increase visitation to your community's historic places. We’ll again offer networking and learning opportunities alongside County Historical Commissions, Main Street managers and participants, historic preservation officers and design review boards, architects and engineers, historians, archeologists, curators, interpreters, managers of museums and historic sites, as well as Texas Historical Commission staff, Texas Heritage Trail Regions, and other partner agencies.
