The Clean Energy Act and Existing Buildings

Wednesday, February 24, 2021
6:30 PM - 8:30 PM
Zoom Webinar

Please join us for a presentation By Todd Steffens of Loring Consulting Engineers on the Clean Energy Act and how it applies to existing buildings!

The "Clean Energy Act" recently passed into law in Washington, DC, and has significant implications for the continuing operation of existing buildings.  Aimed at reducing the carbon footprint of the city, this act requires a continual reduction in the energy consumption of new existing, and historic buildings.  This presentation will introduce you to the Clean Energy Act, requirements for existing buildings, and strategies to achieve compliance (and avoid significant penalties for non-compliance!)

Todd Steffens: Mr. Steffens has 20 years of experience in the commissioning/retro-commissioning, energy auditing, and design of MEP systems for commercial, institutional, historic, financial and municipal facilities. This experience includes the surveying of existing conditions, energy studies/modeling, site assessment reporting, preparation of load and sizing calculations, equipment selection, ductwork and pipe network layout and design, and specifications preparation.   These activities include managing trade contracts, coordinating construction activities between trades on-site, conducting all phases of the building commissioning process, investigating construction phase problems and conflicts, and developing and presenting efficient, comprehensive solutions
